Roof leak....

So with all the rain last night my roof is leaking like crazy. Boy oh Boy a girl just can't catch a break eh?!?

Leaking it bedroom, kitchen, and in the living room. I have someone who will do all the labor for free I just have to get the supplies.

I am afraid if it doesn't get fixed before winter the snow is gonna do my roof in!

grant, loans for home improvement.

I am looking on the net for grants, home improvement grants, however I do have the ability to pay back the money if someone may know of loans for people with bad credit. My bad credit only comes from co-signing with another person for him to obtain a car. other than that my credit score is low and banks will not give me a loan. I already took out a loan to fix up a property for my mother to move into, but all that money is or was not enough, banks again will not give me a loan until the current loan is paid off, and according to inspections in that state, my mother cannot move in until those repairs are made. When the repairs are done, I can sell her old home so that it will pay off her current mortgage and money borrowed to fix her new home.

Can anyone tell me where can I get some grant money for home improvements.

About Christine30

I'm a mom of 5, with the 2 oldest already out of the house. I'm looking for grants that will help to get things done like pay off outstanding debt and home improvement. I'm tired of struggling to get things paid and to find room to safely store things. I am truely at a loss and need help figuring out how to do what needs to be done, especially when I have limits like not being able to get rid of items because they belong to my other half. I've gotten rid of the majority of things from the kids and myself.

About Altair4

My wife and I are middle age (mid 50's) we both have disabilities, I have MS and she has multi ailments. We are both on a fixed income SSD and my wife has a small monthly trust fund. We own our house and after the mortgage and utilities are paid there is close to nothing left for food. Our electric utility is sucking us dry, our level payment is almost up to $400 per month (that takes away one of our SSD payments) The actual meter reading for Feb was over $700. We have seen news segments on tv where organizations have rescued poor people and have even built entire houses for free. We are aware of solar energy systems available but they are too expencive for us and we do not have enough equity in our house to apply for a loan.

With all the hundreds of billions of dollars the government is using to try and repair the economy, I would think there would be something available for a "solar energy system" home improvement project grant for little'ol us! A solar energy system would elimenate our power bill and what ever unused power we produce is baught back by the power company. We are told our electric meter will actualy run backwards.

Can anyone tell us if such a grant exsits? And how we can find it?

home improvement/vehicle payments

I just purchased an old mobile home out of desperation for a home. It needs windows and paint. I had to help with my mother's funeral costs and got behind in my car payments. I would just let the finance co. take it back but then I wouldnt be able to get to work. I can't seem to get them cought up it's about to be repo'ed. I don't have the money to just purchase a cheeper vehicle. And my credit isn't good enough to just finance a vehicle for a couple thousand.

The windows in the home are the old crank type and the cranks are broken. The windows have tape around them to keep the cold out, but now that it's summer we cant open the windows to get air in. I work 45-50 hours a week but just cant get the money to get windows and things that we need to fix this place up. Also carpet in living room is very soiled from the pryor owner. Winter is comming again and the oil tank is empty. Don't know how we will get it filled either. I will have more money from my pay in a couple of months, the trailer will be paid and my 401k loan at work will be paid. I just don't know how to make it for the next 5 mos.

I would get a second job as I have done in the past, but my old joints and back wont let me do much more than I already do. I am so tired and sore from my present work that I can hardly walk on my feet when I get home. My husband works full time but has child support and only get's about $250 ev/2 wks. He has stomache problems and can't work much more either.

Help with lawyer bills

My father passed away 3 years ago December, without a will. I am fighting with my step-mother who has never settled the estate (I live on part of the property my dad was going to leave to me).  I can't afford to pay my lawyer to get this over with and will need to pay off a mortgage on the property when I do get my lawyer paid.  Are there grant programs that will help to pay lawyer fees and mortgages on property? Or am I just wasting my time sifting through all these web pages?  Thanks for any help or advice
